As students returned from winter vacation and were settling back into the normal schedule of classes, the time for course selection had arrived.
This year, Alhambra would start its course selection process in January and in March we would look over and make sure that the classes we picked are the ones we really wanted to take.
This event started with the AP/Honors Night on January 10th where Mr. Stewart and many AP and Honor teachers went up and talked about their classes.
Students learned a lot about these different classes which included AP Physics, AP US History, and AP Modern World.
The next day, January 11th, during second period, students watched a couple of videos about all of the different electives offered in order to pick their top selections. We heard from many students and teachers about why students should take their class.
On Friday the 12th, each grade had student meetings which included how to pick classes for the next year along with which classes would fit their plans for the future.
The next week, January 16th through 19th, the time finally arrived to pick their classes. In every classroom on campus, there was at least one conversation about what classes students would take. Students were both excited and curious about which classes they would take and what the next school year would bring.
Finally, during the week of January 22nd through 26th the counselors would visit each English class to talk with students one-on-one in order for them to share which classes they want to take or should take and how that will help them in the future.
After this week, the course selection period will end and students will have their classes and future at Alhambra set. Everyone is thinking of what will come next.
