The boys’ JV soccer faced Campolindo today, here are some key moments and a recap:
The captain Rodrigo Daurte was shown an early yellow card that had him sit out for the first couple minutes of the game. The first goal conceded in the game came from a penalty that was given for a foul in the box. The penalty was just a little too much for our goalkeeper, Leonardo Cardenas. The lack of defense was the reason for the second goal conceded by the boys. Our boys still managed to create some chances in this half taking a couple of shots on target, but unfortunately, they were blocked by the goalkeeper. The dogs put in outstanding effort while there were some defense mistakes, they were still able to maintain a good midfield. Going into the half the Dogs are unfortunately down two to zero. Sergio Aguilar says at the half, he is not proud of their first-half performance but hopes to do better in the second half.
The second half brought some hope for the boys as Sergio Aguilar was able to put one past the Campolindo keeper. Teammates ran to celebrate with him while parents screamed in hopes of a comeback. This sense of hope continued to shine as the boys were able to apply more pressure and create a lot more chances to score. The defense was working together a lot better this half. While the boys had made the score 1-2, their motivation for a comeback just wasn’t enough. The boys conceded 2 more goals. Making the score 1-4 meaning the JV boys take another loss this season making their record 3-6. Overall the dogs put in a massive amount of effort but still fell short. Their focus now, Las Lomas on Thursday.
