The 2023-2024 Class Selection is Here, and What That Means for AHS Students Next Year

Two weeks back from winter break and it’s time to select classes for the 2023-2024 school year! On Tuesday, January 24th, counselors gave presentations to each grade level about what steps students should take for their upcoming year at Alhambra and set them on the path to success.

During the presentation, students were shown potential classes, ranging from AP World History for incoming sophomores to Beginning Sports Medicine for incoming juniors and seniors. New classes will also be coming to Alhambra for the 23-24 school year, such as Medical Biology, which studies life structures, life processes, and the interrelationships between organisms, and Publications, a creative writing class that covers both Alhambra’s creative writing club, Backroads, and will allow students to also work on articles for the school newspaper.

Juniors were also informed that they will be required to fill out a FAFSA application during their senior year. Juniors who wish not to fill out an application for any reason will have to fill out another form confirming their decision to opt-out.

When it comes to school, it’s never too early to start planning for the future and it all starts here in high school. Course selection will begin on February 1st and will close on the 10th. Students who have any questions about classes or any college-related questions can schedule an appointment with their counselor, Ms. Guevara (A-Le), Mr. Piccolo (Li-Z), or College and Career Specialist Ms. Collins. The sooner students go to ask about their schedule or get questions answered, the easier it will be.
