On Friday, September 12th, the Dog Watcher visited the Club Fair at school. One stand stood out, Letters of Love. The Dog Watcher had a few questions: What is Letters of Love, and why is it important? How can someone join Letters of Love? When, where, and what time are club meetings held? Luckily, after talking to the President of Letters of Love, Ariana Navarro, the Dog Watcher had all the answers needed. “Letters of Love is an organization that provides emotional support to children battling cancer and other serious illnesses in the form of handmade cards.” (Ariana Navarro) These cards are encouraging and meant to uplift during hard times. The Dog Watcher learned that the goal of making cards is to have every kid who receives one feel happy and included. The Dog Watcher interviewed Amelia Adams and asked why Letters of Love is important. “ Letters of love is important to me because there’s nothing more valuable than knowing that I was able to uplift and bring a smile to someone’s face. I think all children deserve to feel appreciated, safe, and accepted- and I’m so grateful that I get to contribute to helping others feel that way.” Navarro said, “ Meetings are held every other Tuesday during lunch, and we look forward to seeing club members there!”. The club advisor is Ms.Paradiso, and meetings take place in her classroom, H103. Secretary Katie Salazar said, “ I love being in Letters of Love because doing small acts that go a long way is very thoughtful and rewarding.” After learning about what Letters of Love actually is, the Dog Watcher was curious about what happens in meetings. Club member, Ella Mougeot, explained, “Usually, the meeting starts with Ari, Maggie, and Katie going over slides, and then we spend the meeting making cards. It’s pretty fun; we just talk while we make the cards.” All one has to do to join Letters of Love is come to the meetings! The next planned meeting for Letters of Love is Oct 2, 2025 in H103!
